Morph #1: The Awakening [action]
[Action/The Barracks]
[Rachel awakens to find herself in a large building, wearing a rather hideous sundress and nothing else. More distressingly, she discovers that she has wings. Eagle wings. For a moment, she's afraid she's been trapped partway in morph, but a moment of experimentation shows that she's still able to at least begin morphing.
And then after another moment, she remembers that she's dead. Is this heaven? I mean, wings and a white dress seems like heaven, but some grungy building sure doesn't. Where is she? What the heck is going on? She can't morph in this dress, and she can't walk around as a human with eagle wings- what if a Controller sees her?
So she casts a look around to make sure nobody's nearby, and then she shucks off the dress and slowly begins morphing into the shape of a bald eagle. It's a long, slow process, and she's still woozy and disoriented. She just hopes she isn't interrupted.]
[Action/The Plaza and the Clothing Store.]
[An eagle with a second set of wings tucked behind the first is soaring around the plaza, looking through windows, a white New Feather dress clutched in her claws. As soon as she locates the clothing store, she'll fly inside and begin browsing. Just a bird out shopping. Nothing to see here.]
[Action/Town]
[Once she's stolen obtained some new clothing and morphed into a human again, a strange girl will be walking around town, staring at everything with a mixture of confusion and dismay. Heaven, so far, sucks. A lot. Especially since everything seems to be half-pilfered from the middle ages, and half the people walking around are weird. It's almost like somebody crossed a ren faire and one of those nerd conventions. She could swear she saw a guy dressed like Spock running around.]
((OOC Note: In-morph replies will come from xenamorphs ))
Oh dear. Uh, sorry, she's a little nutsy.
Okay. That's it. Whoever threw that was going down. It was probably some Controller, they'd realized she wasn't a normal eagle and attacked.
Well. They picked the wrong eagle.
She begins to demorph, using the bushes as cover.]

Hmph. Birds.
[That actually went better than Hermes expected. He begins making his way back down to the ground, suction cups clinging tightly to the stone. In order to better keep his eyes on the sky, he's doing it backwards.]

In fact, a few minutes later, a grizzly bear jumps from the bushes, snarling and glaring around...
And sees nothing. No humans. No Hork-Bajir. No Taxxons. No Andalites, even. Nobody who could have thrown that rock.
... come to think of it, a Taxxon couldn't really have thrown it either. Their arms weren't very strong.]

At least he's already facing the right direction. Hermes goes right back up the wall, tentacles frantically clinging to the stone and wings flapping in a panic.]

Was that... an octopus?
With wings?
... Wings similar to the ones that, she noted, she still had as a bear.
Was it a morph?
Was it Visser One?
... No, it couldn't be Visser One. He wouldn't go for an octopus here. It's the wrong environment. Heck, he wouldn't go for an octopus at all, he'd go for something that was ten feet tall and could breathe acid or something.
So she tries something different. She directs her thought-speak at the octopus. If it was in morph, it would understand her. If it was a regular octopus, it would just stay still.
-You've got thirty seconds to tell me what's going on before I turn you into calamari.-

"Do not know!" he calls back, to whoever's speaking in that weird voiceinhead way. It feels odd but the surprise gigantic carnivore is also odd and it's a much more immediate, deadly kind of odd. "Is bear! Removal appreciated!" Removal of him or of the bear, he wasn't picky.
Hermes is turning white around the edges as concern begins to set in.
Oh hey I kinda accidentally surprosed you there.
I prefer it, actually.
"...there?" he says hesitantly, pointing at the location of the bear. This sounded like one of those TV shows where they asked you questions about the location of blatantly obvious 'hidden' objects.
ANOTHER ONE I MISSED fjdlsjklf *Fails all up in*
The thought-spoken words are emphasised by a quiet grizzly growl.

[Because whoever they were, they were in serious need of a butt-kicking.]

Hermes finds a perch for himself on a window ledge. "Are normal bear? Never seen talking bear."

-What kind of aliens? Are we talking, like, blue centaurs, or brain slugs, or eight-foot walking razorblades?-
no subject
No. Definitely. Are high?

Can bear get high? Have seen dogs get high.

[Dangerous enemies that abducted people. That sounded familiar.
Some things never change, it seems.]

[Why is he discussing this with a bear? Hermes has no idea what sentient bears do in their spare time, so he might as well.]
